Android 2.2 -> 2.3 update - does it lose app information?

Has anyone performed an update from Android 2.2 to 2.3 on their devices yet? Did you have any games installed on the SD card prior to the update, and did it retain any game high scores and stuff like that?

The reason I'm asking is that I'm thinking about running the update on my htc desire, but I don't want to lose all my progress in angry birds
